I know there are many of you out there that would be thrilled to get an adult Ridgeback and not have to worry with the "puppy stuff" !I get calls all the time looking for adults. When I mention Rescue everyone is surprised to know how many purebred Ridgebacks are put into Rescue and are in need of a new forever family.Rescue does not just have adults!Many puppies come into rescue who need families to love them!There are many Rescue groups all over the Country who work very hard to place these dogs and give them a second chance at a wonderful life! Not all the dogs in rescue were claimed from shelters, some were turned in by their owners who, for what ever reason were no longer able to care for them. They just need a new home and a new heart to occupy!
Can I be sure the Rescue dog is healthy?
I know health is a big concern, but be assured the Rescue groups take great care to have each dog Vet checked. If there is a health issue, it WILL be disclosed to the perspective new owner!!
Are all the dogs in Rescue purebred Ridgebacks?
No. There are many mixed breed dogs with rescue, but many still have that famous ridge! Those without the ridge have been determined to be Ridgeback crosses. Many purebred Ridgebacks can be born without ridges, so you could have a ridgeless purebred!!
